As a SLP at Daria Gail Speech, you will lead with your heart and your head, providing high-quality evaluations and individualized therapy across our Beacon and Poughkeepsie offices, as well as in-home and school settings. You’ll be a collaborative bridge-builder, working closely with families to ensure therapy goals translate into real-life wins. Beyond the clinical work, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports in our EMR system in a timely manner. Because this role involves traveling to clients within our service area, you are someone who is proactive and comfortable working independently in varied environments.

You are a clinician who views therapy as an adventure rather than a clinical checklist. You are creative, playful, and deeply patient, naturally building trust through connection rather than compliance. As a neurodiversity-affirming advocate, you celebrate the unique strengths of every child, and you are proactive about finding the right tools (like AAC) to help them shine. You are an adaptable, kind, and strong communicator who can explain the "why" behind child-led play to a caregiver just as easily as you can collaborate with a fellow professional.

This role will begin as maternity coverage with a pre-planned schedule and the possibility of adding evaluations based on your availability. Following the coverage period, the role transitions into a permanent part-time position where you will build and maintain a consistent caseload. While we are starting as part-time (flexible weekdays/afternoons required; weekends are a plus), there is a strong possibility for this to evolve into a full-time role in the future.

Duties:

Conduct thorough and holistic evaluations to identify speech and language disorders
Develop individualized, dynamic treatment plans based on formal and informal assessment
Deliver engaging and effective speech therapy sessions for children across various settings, including clinics and homes
Collaborate with clients' school SLPs, when appropriate, to ensure carryover of communication goals.
Educate and collaborate with clients and their families on strategies to improve communication
Include clients' families, when appropriate, during therapy sessions to facilitate carryover of strategies and generalization of skills
Maintain detailed, timely documentation in our EMR system, including evaluation reports, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports
Stay current with advancements, research, and neurodivergent voices in speech therapy techniques and early intervention practices

Qualifications:

Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist from an accredited program
Prior school experience or pediatric expertise is required
Strong ability to adapt therapy sessions to the client's needs
Deep knowledge of various speech sound disorders and their underlying causes
Knowledge of and experience in gestalt language processing and AAC
Experience conducting client evaluations and developing effective therapy strategies
Passion for working with children in early intervention programs and pediatric settings
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams, including when and to whom to refer clients
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams is highly valued, as well as strong diagnostic skills to ensure a holistic approach to the child's communication development (e.g., sensory and emotional needs)
Commitment to ongoing professional development in speech therapy techniques and best practices

Pay & Hours:

$70 - $90; pay per visit

10 – 20 hours initially per week
